New Business is good business

Katherine Lamb is super excited to welcome another 2 new clients to the fold. K Lamb Associates have taken the first course booking from the Isle of Man Fire. In a few weeks' time we will be sending one of our highly skilled delivery teams into their Service for a SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Initial Incident Command. Elsewhere, Royal Berkshire Fire have commissioned 4 Group Decision Making Exercise Days with Joe Hassell Command in partnership with KLA. The Tactical/ Strategic Level DMEs are proving extremely popular with several Fire Services.

Last week K Lamb Associates started our third SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command Course this year. Hosted by Cambridgeshire Fire 2 of their delegates were joined by delegates from, Devon and Somerset Fire and Lancashire Fire. Phase 1 of the course sees them attend a 2-day workshop at which they deliver a pre prepared presentation followed by 3 professional discussions with the assessors. Five Learning Outcomes, with associated Assessment Criteria, are covered in the 2-days. The delegates must put a lot of hard work into learning the comprehensive bibliography leading into these 2-days and these delegates were no different. Some excellent group discussions with fascinating experiences brought by the cohort. They now move on to their SCG Practical Day hosted by the Director of Staffordshire Fire Civil Contingency Unit Bethan Morgan.

Humberside Fire asked us to deliver a week of SFJ Awards – Effective Command – ICL2 & 3 Revalidation Assessment Days. Brilliantly designed scenarios deliberately located within the service area tested the candidate's skills as Intermediate and Advanced Incident Commanders. Supported by Humberside FRS Command Support Team, candidates felt less stress surrounded by familiar faces enabling them to focus on the job in hand. Well done to all the delegates who took part.

Once again, we delivered a day of ICL1 Revalidation Assessments for Derbyshire Fire. Having asked for our help, they provided the facility and, using a remote assessment format, we provided the necessary skills to facilitate the day using XVR Simulation. A successful delivery model we look forward to working with Derbyshire FRS again.
