A First for K Lamb Associates Ltd in Bermuda!

Today marks day one of K Lamb Associates delivery of a Recruit Firefighters Course with the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service. The 10-week recruits' course is being delivered in country by a dedicated team of KLA trainers. The course, months in the designing and planning stage, will be the first course of its kind delivered in Bermuda by an external training provider, and Katherine Lamb is thrilled to have been commissioned to fulfil the task. We will give regular updates on progress and lots of cool photos as the weeks progress.

It's truly amazing the Incident Command facilities that Fire Services across the UK have investing in. The West Midlands Fire are the latest FRS inviting KLA in to use their brand-new Incident Command Suite and what a remarkable facility it is. State of the art technology coupled with a realistic Command Unit set up and plenty of space for feedback and reflection. The delegates faced familiar risks, all bespoke designed by KLA to reflect their risk profile but set to a challenging thought-provoking scene. Fire Services are truly reaping the many benefits to hosting Incident Command Training and Assessment on their own sites utilising a professional accredited training provider.

Devon & Somerset Fire commissioned KLA to deliver 2-days of SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Revalidation of Strategic Incident Command. Four of their Strategic Command Team were exposed to a complex and challenging scenario again based on a risk in their service area adding realism. A very competent team of KLA Associates spent both days ensuring that the delegates had an immersive experience that tested their knowledge and understanding regarding the facilitation of a SCG meeting.

“A huge thank you to the KLA team and to Joe Hassell Command for the exceptional value they brought to developing our incident command capability.” AM Damian Borlase DSFRS.

“All role players acted both professional and respectful throughout and made the assessment challenging and enjoyable - strangely!” Mike Porter DSFRS.

KLA delivered the latest in a series of Fire Control Commander Courses for Humberside Fire. The 4-day course really tests the delegates using several bespoke incidents for them to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the Fire control Officer role.

“Whilst understanding the need of this course / qualification, I felt the course delivered everything we needed. I have personally taken away lots of learning points and ideas to hopefully develop others.” FCon Officer Laura Butcher.

Some great feedback received following KLAs recent delivery of a SFJ Awards-Effective command-ICL4 Revalidation Assessment for North Yorkshire Fire.

“For our L4 command revalidation, we continue to use KLA as the sessions are both relevant and challenging. The team go to the effort of creating realistic scenarios based in our own county and aligned to our risk profile. Using KLA reduces the burden on our training team designing and delivering assessments, creates independent assessment and provides assurances of benchmarking against the sector. Really good sessions well delivered.” AM Ben Illsley NYFRS.
