It’s exciting to see the number of promotion processes currently active incorporating all Incident Command Levels 1-4. The Fire Service never stands still with an ever-increasing demand to fill vacant positions. It is vitally important that newly promoted Incident Commanders are equipped with the right training and qualification befitting of the role they are stepping into. At K Lamb Associates we are incredibly proud to be engaged in this furtherment of the future Incident Commanders.
South Yorkshire Fire commissioned KLA to undertake a SFJ Awards-Effective command-ICL3 Revalidation Assessment Day. With the aim of bolstering current command rotas, the day consisted of 2 delegates being assessed, using the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Framework, as tactical commanders dealing with a complex incident based in their own service area. Abely supported by KLA’s delivery team, a Command Support Team, Command Support Officer and functional officers, the delegates could not have received a more realistic environment in which to exercise their skills.
North Yorkshire Fire engaged KLA to carry out the same facilitation of a revalidation day this time for three ICL2 Officers. With the same level of command support each delegate was immersed in the incident providin the perfect vehicle for assessment.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Greater Manchester Fire both commissioned the services of Joe Hassell Command in partnership with KLA. Each service asked for the Strategic Command Refresher and Group Decision Making Exercise product which is proving extremely popular with Fire Services around the UK. An opportunity to gain valuable CPD, the exercises are well designed and encourage engagement from the very start. Feedback continues to be very good;
“Very knowledgeable trainer who obviously has lots of relevant sector experience at a strategic level. The course was interesting, engaging and better equipped me in preparing to be involved in TCG's in the future.” Mat Rooney GMFRS
