A Summer Week of Inaugural Courses

A Summer Week of Inaugural Courses

Throughout the Summer, K Lamb Associates has continued to deliver quality Incident Command Courses, this week was special because new clients put their faith in us, and looking at the feedback we didn’t let them down.

The Isle of Man Fire commissioned KLA to deliver the first SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Initial Incident Command on the island itself. With the support of their IC Training Team, the facilities provided, and the resources sourced the week proved very successful with all the delegates getting expert instruction and assessment from KLA’s delivery team.

“ICL1 2025 IOM was a great idea and absolutely worth doing here to see you all back on the Rock taking the Isle of Man fire service to the next level.” Stephen Christie IoM FRS

Katherine Lamb personally attended the long-awaited Pass-Out Parade for the first Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service Recruits Course delivered in Bermuda. In the best traditions of the Fire Service, the pass out parade included demonstrations of the various new skills acquired. Over 10-weeks recruits from Bermuda learnt a host of new skills required to be a Bermudan firefighter. Both the manmade and natural resources available for the scenarios, the dedication of the BFRS Course Instructors along with KLA’s delivery team made the course a great success. Chief Fire Officer Dana Lovell and many other dignitaries representing The Bermuda Government made the day special including the presenting of certificates.

“Yes, I learned so much during this course even more than expected. It was a pleasure to learn and apply my new skills”. Bermuda Recruit Course

“I do feel confident applying what I’ve learned as we understand why we do it and how to get it done. It is also important to learn that not everything will go perfectly in the real world and that this is a thinking job”. Bermuda Recruit Course

West Yorkshire Fire asked KLA to deliver our 2-day SFJ Awards-Command support Officer (CSO) Course. This course aims to prepare competent officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to undertake the super important role of CSO at an incident.

“Great introduction to the roll of the Command Support Officer”. Andrew Pearson WYFRS.

We visited Manchester Airport Fire Service this week following a request from them to get an introduction to the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool. They are embarking on a 3-month trial of the EC Tool giving a limited number of their staff access to the tool including the training portal with access to over 75 ICL 1 and ICL2 training scenarios. The session was well attended with great engagement from the team.

Katherine Lamb invites all Initial, Intermediate, Advanced and Strategic Incident Commanders to view our website and see for yourself what KLA delivers. We also have products that include Fire Control Room Commanders (Level 1 and 2). If you are interested in knowing more about the variety of Incident Command products we deliver or the EC Behavioural Marking Tool, please visit our website and get in touch to speak to one of our team.
