Fantastic news! following a competitive tender process, K Lamb Associates Ltd have been awarded yet another 3-year contract this time with South Yorkshire Fire (SYFRS). Starting Monday 28th April 2025 KLA are responsible for delivering all manner of Incident Command Training and Assessment for their ICL1 through to ICL4. Katherine Lamb expressed her delight at being awarded this contract saying, “it is an honour to be awarded this contract and to once again work closely with such a professional and progressive fire service.”
KLA always stand ready to provide support whenever a call comes in from one of our colleagues in the Fire and Rescue Service. This time it was a senior manager in the Learning & Development Department from Derbyshire Fire (DFRS) who reached out with an urgent request for support. The task, to help them get over an acute staffing issue in their Incident Command Training Team. KLA was asked if we could deliver, at short notice, three days of SFJ Awards-Effective Command-ICL1 Revalidation Assessments for 12 of their ICL1 delegates.
The KLA ICL1 Assessment Delivery Model that both parties agreed would help on this occasion was our remote delivery option. Utilising MS Teams, our 3-person team consisting of a skilled XVR Simulation Operator, course director (assessor) and another assessor programmed 3 days in, supported by a DFRS trainer to deliver credible scenarios and assessments using the Effective command Behavioural Marking Tool. Finishing this week, we eagerly await the official feedback although anecdotal evidence suggests it has been a great success, and we look forward to working with DFRS again.
