International Control Room Week 27th Oct – 2nd Nov 2025
At K Lamb Associates we celebrate the vital work done by control room staff every but especially in the blue light responder services. Katherine Lamb applauds the dedicated staff who answer emergency calls 24/7 365 days of the year. At KLA we were one of the first Fire Service Training Providers to design and deliver a certificated Fire Control Command course as we recognised the importance of access to quality training and assessment in association with SFJ Awards.
Fast forward to current day and there is now the SFJ Awards Level 3 Award in Fire Control Command (610/6321/6). This Skills for Justice Awards certified course is recommended for Fire Control personnel who are performing or developing towards Supervisory Roles within the Fire Control Environment and it has been written in full consideration of;
• National Operational Guidance document
• Incident command Training Specification
The course details are; a 4-day course with 2 x KLA instructors. We can accept a minimum of 4-6 delegates with KLA providing all teaching and assessment material, and scenarios on FRS risks. A delivery input tailored to your organisational systems and processes with skills input relating to Incident Command & Management along with scenario based practical exercises.
To complement the initial course and further satisfy the continuous professional development (CPD) of Fire Control Room Operatives, KLA has developed the already renowned Effective Command Tool for use in ongoing assessment and training. A subscription service, you can opt for access not only to the behavioural marking tool but also the excellently designed bespoke training scenarios.
With courses already successfully delivered to, Humberside Fire, and Surrey Fire and further enquiries from several other FRSs, we’re excited to see how this product can enhance the important role of Fire Control Commander.
