K Lamb Associates Welcomes New Opportunities
Exciting times recently at KLA as we receive new enquiries and engage with some Fire Service’s for the first time. Productive conversations being had about our range of Incident Command Products, the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool and Fire Control Command Courses. We’ve already taken course bookings on the back of these conversations, so we’ll report back once theyve been delivered.
K Lamb Associates teams were full on in Warwickshire Fire last week delivering 2-days of Incident Command Revalidation Assessments at ICL2 & ICL3 and Joe Hassell, in partnership with KLA, delivering a Strategic Fire Commander Refresher and Group Decision Making Exercise. Always a welcoming service to work in, the engagement with delegates was testament to the service’s continued drive to improve.
“The trainers all had very good demeanour, with a broad range of knowledge and specialisms that benefited the assessments.”
Another session facilitated by Joe Hassell saw North Yorkshire Fire Strategic Commanders benefit from the enormously popular decision-making exercise. A topical theme used, designed to test knowledge & understanding but also the practicalities of application.
“The CPD sessions are a great way of maintaining competence. The sessions are well planned and delivered. Joe's great and all our team really look forward to the sessions.” AM Ben Illsley
Both Lincolnshire Fire and South Yorkshire Fire engaged KLA to deliver for them a SFJ Awards Level 4 Award (ICL2) in Intermediate Incident Command. Further examples of 2 Fire Services striving for the best in terms of development of their Incident Commanders. There were some thought provoking group discussions, aligned to the learning outcomes, with delegates sharing their lived experiences.
“The trainers and support from KLA have helped advance my knowledge but also my own resilience and confidence in responding to incidents as Incident Commander.” SM Tom Robjohns
Two more Strategic Commanders, this time from Greater Manchester Fire, took part in the final part of their SFJ Awards Level 7 Award in Strategic Incident Command. Each delegate participated as the Strategic Coordinating Group Chair demonstrating their leadership skills all whilst being assessed using the Effective Command Behavioural Marking Tool. The immersive experience, made so because of the engagement with Staffordshire Civil Contingencies Unit role players, ensures the delegates get the best possible opportunity in a safe learning environment.
If your Fire Control Room is looking for a SFJ Awards Qualification in Fire Control Command, then maybe you should contact us. We can explain more about the SFJ Awards qualification course and if requested give a demonstration of the Effective Command Tool for Fire Control Commanders.
